let's go for round two

Hello again, blogging world! For those of you who don't know, this is my second attempt at a blog. I started one this past fall, only to find that it became neglected over time. I am not letting that discourage me, however, and this is me getting back on the horse, figuratively speaking. This blog is going to be different than the last one because this blog has a purpose. As the title of it suggests, this blog is about celebrating the little things in life. The quote that goes with the title says it all. "Enjoy the little things, because one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." I think far too often we hurry through life, looking for the next big thing, whether that is something exciting like big plans for the weekend or something dreaded like a huge test. This causes us to miss everything in between, like sweet conversations with friends, a particularly delicious clementine, and other little things that make up every day life. I am going to do my best to post an entry every day saying at least one "little thing" that I am thankful for that day. I am hoping this will give me a more appreciative perspective on life, as well as making me more aware of how my time is spent. So let's get started...
I am thankful for libraries. Today I went to the Hoover library after I got done at the dentist (which has yet to become something I'm thankful for) and was reminded again of how much I love them. I love the clean, yet somehow slightly musty smell of it that you can only find in a library. I love the millions of books that are neatly organized onto wooden shelves that are so easy to get lost in. Libraries have such an inviting feel to them. It's as if they are extending an invitation to step inside to the dimly lit interior and escape the world around you. Their comfy leather chairs that are just big enough to curl up in always draw me to themselves, and before I know it, I've been sitting there for an hour. I am thankful for libraries.
